📘I was always dreaming of drawing for a publication. And my dream came through when I received an unexpected phone call in the morning of February 10, 2025. Feyza Yalcin, the writer of a young adult book titled “Mavi’s Journey”, was looking for an artist to draw illustrations and she decided to ask me. I wanted to give a try. After reading the story for a few times, I drew pictures of several scenes from the book following the footsteps of my muse and imagination. I had almost one month to complete the drawings and finally I delivered them on March 10, 2025. I am so happy that the writer liked the drawings and they went immediately to the print house. The writer even decided to use the spiral map of the story on the cover of the book, which is an honor for me. As I didn’t have anything commercial, it was a freestyle work coming from my soul and heart inspired by the inner journey of the novel’s hero. Finally it also became a reason for a good cause when the writer wanted to pay me and instead I suggested a donation to a charity. The book in English and Turkish is available in online stores now.

📕Her zaman bir kitap için çizim yapmanın hayalini kuruyordum. Ve bu hayalim 10 Şubat 2025 sabahı aldığım beklenmedik bir telefonla gerçekleşti. “Mavi'nin Yolculuğu” adlı genç yetişkin kitabının yazarı Feyza Yalçın, illüstrasyon çizecek bir sanatçı arıyormuş ve bana sormaya karar vermiş. Ben de denemek istedim. Hikayeyi birkaç kez okuduktan sonra, ilham perimin ve hayal gücümün izinden giderek kitaptan birkaç sahnenin resimlerini çizdim. Çizimleri tamamlamak için neredeyse bir ayım vardı ve sonunda 10 Mart 2025 tarihinde teslim ettim. Yazarın çizimleri beğenmesi ve hemen matbaaya göndermesi beni çok mutlu etti. Hatta yazar hikayenin spiral haritasını kitabın kapağında kullanmaya karar verdi ki bu benim için bir onurdur. Ticari bir amacım olmadığı için, roman kahramanının içsel yolculuğundan esinlenerek ruhumdan ve kalbimden gelen serbest bir çalışmaydı. Sonunda, yazar bana ödeme yapmak istediğinde, bunun yerine bir hayır kurumuna bağış yapmasını önerdiğimde iyi bir amaç için de bir neden oldu.
